Stocks and Food Blogging
I was watching a video on Gary Vaynerchuck. He did a small piece about how he took over his father's business. Working with your parent seems like a nightmare. People don't live with their parents because of this same reason.
If you know or seen him, Gary speaks the truth. His main pitch is that if you want to be successful, then you need to be more motivated and determined than everyone else. If you're not taking risks or challenging your business partner(s) or bosses, then you're not growing. He learned this early on in his career selling wine as a child. His dad respected him because, first, it's amazing to see a kid who's never drank wine, sell wine to a bunch of people, and, second, even though they butted heads on ideas, Gary worked even harder to prove that his business idea would work. That flexibility and freedom was not given, it was earned.
As we work our 9-5 jobs, well for me it's never ending, we lose sight on what matters to us in life. How do I gain the ultimate freedom to do what I want to do? You may ask, what is that I want to do with my life? Well, it's to meet people and travel the world. Put faces to the places and countries that I visit and travel to. Learn about cultures and foods. It's amazing to see how many food bloggers and travel blogs are out there nowadays. Anthony Bourdaine is probably the OG of all these new vloggers and food bloggers. I'm very inspired by these people that take the time to put so much thought and creativity into their travels. I'm sure these are no longer leisure travels, but at least it's a job that excites them everyday that they wake up. Their office... is literally the world. I for one, will not miss going to a Starbucks for an ice tea and wifi. Someday I will visit all those mom and pop coffee shops around the world.
I am also debating if I could make it as a stock trader so that I can have the freedom to travel. I know it's very risky, so I will try it out with a small amount of money to see where it gets me. I'm hoping I learn quick and capitalized on the market (if only I invested in BitCoin back in 2009) or invested in Facebook like I told myself I should of done a few years ago. Well, today was a day of optimism, so let's see what tomorrow brings me.
